| Hiked in from the dam, got here around 4:15. Had fun with a large group of Boy Scouts from Birmingham, Homewood area. It was nice to see the kids get out and enjoy the wonders of the woods. It was real nice this weekend. | |||||||

| Hammocked here last night and rode out the storm. Had the place to myself. Last weekend we saw 25+ hikers in this section while we were doing trail maintenance (Clearing trees). I'm headed to High Point and back to scout out the trail for needed maintenance. I hope to return soon to trim some of the overgrowth between the Oakey crossover and here... But this weekend I'm just out enjoying the Pinhoti. | |||||||

Arrived ay 8:30pm on Sunday. Labor Day Weekend Arrived 1 September 2019 at dark; will be departing 2 September 2019. Hiked in from Fagan Campground to enjoy a night at the shelter. LKM Mommy and Daddy love you! PS the most peaceful place I have ever slept. Black lighter was already here. Thanks. ♥Left my candle for the next hiker in need.♥ Great hike from Fagan's Campground. Short one compared to our normal hikes. Beautiful place. So I had to bring my friend Ashley. She loves it ♥... Leaving some TP for anyone in need 101. ☺ Labor Day was a success!!! Did clean up some here at the shelter / trail. No Trash. Burned what we found. 26 Years 11 September 2019 We ride the Chief Ladiga Trail often and have only accidentally been on the Pinhoti Trail at Cheaha Mountain once when our sons, no 20 and 23, were 7 and 10. I kept looking for a certain shelter and said we would eat lunch at the end of the trail (LOL). I've been begging my sweetie heart to hike this portion for ages. We also went to Wilson Ridge. I am a a happy camper! ♥ this portion. We gave up and ate at the boulders not sure when we would arrive at the shelter. ☺ 4 paragraphs recommending various businesses follow. |
